Within moments they were on a drop pod rocketing towards the center of the base. When it opened all seemed to awry... Entire sections of the base were in ruins.

“It seems we will have much to clean up later.” Queen stated as she set down the first signal booster.

“Indeed.” King muttered, keeping his eyes aware around him.

They felt the presence of skurr in the area, but they weren't agitated. No it was more that their tissue was there while they were not. Sure enough they picked up a patrol of biomecha walking their way. They didn't seem to be in too much of a hurry, though they were armed rather well. They then picked up a second patrol, and a third, a fourth.

“This is why I prefer overt to covert.” King mused as he started studying the movement patterns to try and and find a gap to slip though.

“Don't worry, you'll get your precious explosions soon enough.” Queen assured him.

Then they saw it. They weren't skurr infesties, they were confederate Knightheads modified into biological mecha. it seemed Balmung's crystal research had given the Confederates yet another edge on a large scale.

“Well that makes this both considerably harder, and yet easier.” Queen commented.

King sighed. “And I suppose this also makes it so we can not only not be captured. But not even properly IDed. Lovely.” he droned.

There wasn't much going on outside however and it was likely they could slip past most of the mech gaurds. Getting out, would as usual, be the hard part. Being familiar with the base helped, as they found that the access road to the west was largely unocupied and they could kill their enemies with any amount of wonton destruction without drawing attention on the way to the actual base. They didn't have much time to decide however, as the patrol was almost on them.
